NEBOSH Remote National General Certificate

Course Objectives:

As stated within the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, any manager who is appointed to control health and safety issues must be ‘suitably and sufficiently trained’.  The NEBOSH National General Certificate is an examined basic level qualification designed to provide this necessary knowledge and understanding of health & safety.

Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders or Safety Representatives who play a significant role within the management of organisational health & safety.

Course Content:

The syllabus is divided into 2 units:

NG1 – Management of Health & Safety

  • Why we should manage workplace Health & Safety
  • How health & safety management systems work & what they look like
  • Managing Risk – understanding people & process
  • Managing change & procedures

NG2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards

  • Physical & Psychological health
  • Musculoskeletal health
  • Chemical & Biological Agents
  • General Workplace Issues
  • Work Equipment
  • Fire
  • Electricity

Testing is completed in two stages: NG1 is via access to an Open Book Examination Portal with questions based on a Safety Scenario the delegate will demonstrate their knowledge of how to apply the relevant regulations and safety measures required to mitigate the scenario.  You will have access to your Open Book Examination for 24 hours. For more details on the Open Book Exam please click here NG2 is to conduct an unaided workplace safety inspection which outlines 10 workplace hazards from a minimum of 5 hazard categories, with the delegate outlining control measures to reduce the risk so far as reasonably practicable. Within 10 days of completing the NG1 Open Book Examination, the delegate must hand in their completed practical assessments.

To achieve this qualification delegates must pass both elements NG1 & NG2.

Delivery:

Delivered via Zoom video technology, the training follows the same curriculum as the classroom course and is delivered to the same standard.  The same examination takes place but via our secure online assessment technology.
