CITB Funding

What is CITB?

CITB is dedicated to helping the construction sector grow by aligning training standards and qualifications with industry needs. Through the CITB Levy, contributing employers can access funding for essential training via the Grant Scheme when booking through Approved Training Organisations (ATOs).

CITB Levy and Grants

Employers registered with CITB and current on their levy payments are eligible to apply for grants. This funding can be used to cover the cost of accredited, CITB-approved training courses that meet industry standards across various categories and specifications.

CITB and Employers Network

Employer Networks are an initiative set up and funded by CITB aiming to simplify the way you get the support and funding you need to access the training you want. Employers registered with CITB and up to date with their levy payments can join an Employer Network in their local area. These Networks simplify access to training and funding by letting employers collectively shape and prioritise which skills are most needed.

You do not have to submit separate paperwork for each claim: once you’re part of the Network, training support and funding are organised on your behalf.

With regional Networks now rolling out across Great Britain, you’ll find support whether your business is large or small, and you’ll have a say in how training budgets are spent locally.

Employer Network Fund

The CITB Employer Network Fund is an essential resource for construction businesses across the UK, providing access to significant funding for workforce training. This initiative helps cover some of your training costs, allowing you to enhance employee skills, maintain compliance with industry standards, and support your business growth.

As an approved ATO and Training Provider Network member (TPN), you can be rest assured that your courses can be funded with us via the Employer Network funding stream.

Importantly, these courses don't have to be grant-eligible, offering your business the freedom to choose training that directly meets your needs. Additionally, you don’t need to pre-plan your training extensively, as bookings can be made on an ad-hoc basis.
