Course Objectives

The two-day inspection and testing refresher course is a practical course which is perfectly suited for practising electricians looking to update their understanding of single and three-phase testing procedures. It is advisable for individuals aiming to join courses like 2391 or 2396 Design and Verification, which necessitate prior knowledge and skills in inspection and testing.

N.B. This qualification is not approved for use by candidates under the age of 18. City and Guilds will not accept any registrations for candidates under this age.

Entry Requirements

This course has no formal entry prerequisites, but it is expected that candidates have undergone prior training in inspection and testing, as the course is not designed to accommodate individuals without previous training in this area.

This is a 2 day course.

The course offers practical modules in both single and three-phase applications, where applicable including:

  • Continuity of CPC
  • Continuity of ring final
  • Insulation resistance
  • Polarity
  • Earth Electrode Resistance
  • Phase rotation and phase sequencing
  • Earth-fault loop impedance (Ze and Zs)
  • Prospective fault current (Ipf)
  • RCD
