Investing in Young People is the way forward

Investing in Young People is the way forward . . .

The plight of young people in the work place has hit the headlines this week in more ways than one.

One report suggested that a 16-24 year old was seriously injured at work every 40 minutes in the UK, and one killed every month.

The HSE has quickly come to young adults’ defence by saying education is the key while they mature, not only for the young but the young at heart they work with as well!  Basically, the whole workforce should train to prevent accidents happening.

Also, making the news is the fall-out from the recently imposed Driver CPC regulations. The Government initiative has started to take its toll and there have been reports that Christmas deliveries may be delayed through a shortage of unqualified drivers.

It would seem that many of the older generation of professional drivers chose to retire rather than go back into education. Companies desperately need to fill these positions with people who have the Driver CPC hours, often looking to the 30-somethings in different roles to fill the gap, leaving the bottom tier of many businesses short of employees.

This is where the nation’s young people can step in, and C&C Training can help with all your training requirements to make sure your workforce matures and constantly makes the grade.

Don’t forget – all young people looking to join the construction industry as labourers must now take a touch screen test and attend a one-day CSkills Health & Safety Awareness course (or equivalent qualification) in order to gain their green card.

Ps: Did you know that the unemployment rate of 16-24 year olds is three-times that of older workers? Why not capitalise on this week’s special prices and be involved in developing the next generation of the UK’s workforce.
